Meet the Heart Behind Caring Transitions of Mill Creek, Everett & Snohomish

Dedicated to guiding your family through life’s transitions with care, compassion, and local expertise.

President & Owner

Christine Visser

After more than 20 years working in merchandising, e-commerce, finance, and sales, I launched Caring Transitions of Mill Creek, Everett & Snohomish in January 2022—driven by both professional experience and a deeply personal story.

At 19, I found myself as the Executor of my father’s estate. He was a hoarder, and navigating that overwhelming process left a lasting impact on me. It’s what makes this work so personal—and why I’m especially drawn to helping families facing similar challenges today.

Before starting Caring Transitions of Mill Creek, Everett & Snohomish, I also spent time working in the funeral industry, where I learned the value of empathy, dignity, and calm during difficult life transitions. These experiences shaped how I built this business—with sustainability, compassion, and community at its core. Today, I’m proud to lead a team that approaches each client with kindness and understanding, and I’m deeply committed to fostering a culture that values people just as much as the work we do.

I'm a proud mom to two amazing kids—Nico (8) and Riley (5)—who occasionally join me on job sites. They’ve grown up seeing the heart behind this work, and they’re already learning what it means to care for people and the planet.

Supporting people through life’s transitions has always felt like a natural fit for me. As Senior Project Manager at Caring Transitions, I support clients through some of life’s biggest changes — from downsizing and relocating to sorting through decades of memories.

One of my favorite parts of the job is getting to walk alongside clients from start to finish. That full-circle connection allows space for conversation, emotion, and meaningful moments I truly cherish.

My biggest inspiration is my 82-year-old grandmother, Linda — one of my closest friends and the heart behind why I do this work. She’s living with dementia, and while the journey has had its challenges, it’s also deepened our bond in ways I never expected.

Outside of work, I spend as much time as I can exploring the outdoors with my dog, Rican — a six-year-old pit bull with a big heart and bigger love for beach walks.

I recently navigated the loss of a parent and was entrenched in the process of sorting through their belongings and deciding which items had sentimental value and which could be let go of. The process, while overwhelming, made me realize I had a naturally calm approach to tackling the "stuff of our lives" and supporting aging seniors as they navigate their next chapter.

I love working with seniors and thrive when I can help create a personalized space for our clients through decluttering items and decorating their homes through thoughtfully placed furniture, even hanging pictures on the walls. I love what we do and look forward to coming into work each day. The team calls me "mom" and our culture has truly created a family environment where I'm proud of the work we do.

I was drawn to this work for a variety of reasons. I love that Caring Transitions provides so much flexibility and a low-key environment where I have the opportunity to connect with seniors in a meaninful way but also work independently taking pictures. My education is in US history and illustration and the work we do is weirdly applicable to my passions. I felt like I would be good at this job because I love sorting through inventory and clearing the clutter; so much of this job requires tenacity in this skillset and I've been able to jump into the task quickly and love the day-to-day grind.

I have a cat named Makali'i which is Hawaiian for "very little" but I like to say now that she's "very fat". My friends say she is built like a tank and I love her dearly.

Chief Minion | The Handyman

Dirk Visser

An Aerospace Entineer by trade, I moonlight as a handyman for Caring Transitions supporting seniors with general household maintenance. I'm the guy behind the scenes installing and wall mounting the television and assembling furniture then securing it to the walls. Safety is my primary objective and involvement with Caring Transitions, along with clearing junk and debris at the end of a project.

Christine is my wife and I fully support her business both emotionally and physically taking up the "rear end" to make sure our clients needs are 100% complete. It brings me great joy to see seniors settle into a new home happily and I love being a part of that in some small way.

I'm a quilter, a crafter, a photographer and an artist. I was drawn to this work because I needed something part time and flexible while my kids are at school, but with a team of individuals who are more than just co-workers, they're an extension of family. I've loved supporting our seniors by digitizing their family photos, sorting through their treasures and photographing inventory for our online auctions. Each day presents a unique challenge and I love that about the work, it's always changing and I just jump right in.
